Designed in 2024, Emi is Erwan Bouroullec’s inaugural design for Flos. Born from a desire to illuminate from shadows, the sculptural light reflects Bouroullec’s signature style, while showcasing his appreciation for industrial craftsmanship.

Despite its powerful luminosity, the light source remains hidden, creating a striking interplay of visibility and invisibility. It offers both ambient lighting and directional focus, making it versatile and practical in its design. 

Its construction, featuring an aluminium body and a cast iron base, pays homage to traditional lamp-making techniques, blending timeless elements with contemporary design sensibilities.
